Description
These are contoured scales for the AD20.5 model from Demko Knives (small diameter pivot only). Pick your favorite texture and customize it with your initials, fancy colors, or a picture of your mom. After you place your order, we will ship you the scales along with a customized bead to match!
To clarify which knife version these scales will fit, only #1 below for now:
- AD 20.5 with small pivot screw (Blade steels: AUS10A, or D2) – these are the models we make scales for currently
- AD 20.5 with large pivot screw (Blade steels: S35VN, 3V, 20CV) – we plan to make scales for these in the near future but they are not currently available
- AD 20.5 with no liners and metal handles (Blade steels: 20 CV, 3V) – we don’t plan to make scales for this version
This is for scales only. Knife not included.
Delivery usually takes about three weeks.
Material is Nylon PA12
Additively manufactured on an HP MJF 580. PA12 is a durable nylon that has low water absorption. Note that this material is not nearly as stiff as the stock G10 so the scales are a thicker to compensate as well as to provide thickness for contouring. Nylon is also the base material in FRN (Fiber reinforced Nylon). Durability is similar to FRN but not quite as stiff without the fiber reinforcement. It won’t shatter but it may scuff or dent over time with very heavy use.
Warranty
We warranty all of our products 100% for 1 year against manufacturing defects and anything that is not “wear and tear” under normal use. We do quality checks on each set of scales to ensure they meet our tolerance specifications. That being said, the industrial 3D printing process we use is advanced, complex, and can occasionally be prone to cosmetic and other errors. Great Inexpensive way to add cool looking scales (verified owner) –
These scales are really cool. There’s more detail and contouring than I expected. They were relatively easy to install. I only wish they came with the same colored back spacer. I used the original Demko backspacer which was black so it worked fine. I’ll probably pick up a couple more of these!

First I really love the texture and contouring of the chroma scales. The colors are somewhat washed out. Black is more gray and red is more pinkish. Just keep that in mind. Having said that I really like the scales and enjoy the muted color tones.

Great scales for the price. You really cant beat them for 35 bucks. I ordered the blue dragon scales. They were a little tough to put on, some of the pins in the center of the knife didn’t want to seat all the way in the holes for them, but a quick couple taps with a rubber mallet got everything seated correctly. I really didn’t like the original Demko scales that came with the knife. They felt cheap for a + $100 knife. I was afraid these might feel similar given the price, but they feel great and give the knife a really unique look. They look almost exactly like the picture on the website, the color is a little lighter in person and they add a little bit of thickness the original scales didn’t have, which is a plus for me. I ordered tip up for a lefty and even though it said 4 were in stock, Chroma contacted me quickly and said they had to be printed and there would be a 4 week wait, ordered them on 7/5 and they were shipped 7/28. So, if you customize anything you might have to wait. They also included a matching bead you can put on a lanyard if that’s your thing. This is my first pair of custom scales for knife and I’m very happy with how it turned out.

Good quality of product. But bad customer service, I think. I’ll explain.
First, I made a customized order for Demko AD20.5 with my own photo. Texture Pebbles.
But scales arrived without my additional photo.
Second, after I received my order , I found out that there are TWO TYPES demko AD20.5 — with LARGE or SMALL pivot. Unfortunately I have large pivot , and Chroma Scales fit ONLY SMALL pivot.
Very sad that Chroma website doesn’t have any information about it. (

Also, we’ve taken your suggestion and updated our product page to clearly indicate the pivot styles supported for the AD20.5. We hope to add support for the larger pivot soon. We will email you when that happens and would be glad to remake your order for you at that time.
